Tomball History Walk, Afternoons in the fall, winter and early spring:
Take a leisurely, two (2) mile guided walk and learn the history of Tomball. Nature scenes include cows, and perhaps a bald eagle or two. A pair of eagles makes their nest near the Great Life Ranch and they are seen occasionally. The walk includes a visit to the Carmen Nelson Bostick Cemetery, which is a dedicated Historic Texas Landmark. The cemetery is steeped in local Texas history and includes the graves of three confederate soldiers.
The walk ends with beverages and snacks at Great Life Ranch. Enjoy the outdoors on cool south Texas afternoon. Approximately two (2) hours.
What to wear: Hiking shoes, boots or footwear which can withstand a little mud and water. Socks are always a great idea.
What to bring: Camera, sunscreen, bug spray, hat, and sunglasses.
The walk: The walk is rural and crosses a well-traveled road. There are no hills or strenuous terrain. Children must be accompanied by parents. A mystery event occurs on the walk back to the ranch.
Walk concludes: The walk concludes with a visit with goats and a small snack and drinks on the front porch.
Check the schedule for Tomball History Walks in late fall, winter and early spring or inquire via email if you have a group of five 5 or more.
